Kickoff June Dairy Month with Breakfast on May 29th
Join Kewaunee County Dairy Promotion in kicking off “June is Dairy Month” with breakfast on May 29, 2014 at Rendezvous of Luxemburg. The delicious buffet of eggs, cheese, sausage, bacon, fruit and much more will be served from 6:30 am to 8:00 am with the Kickoff Program beginning at 7:00 am.
The Committee is honored to have Carrie Mess, as the keynote speaker for the Kickoff Breakfast. Carrie, known as “Dairy Carrie” is a dairy farmer, blogger, speaker and Agvocate for Agriculture from Lake Mills, Wisconsin, farming in partnership with her husband, Patrick and his parents on their 100 cow dairy farm. Carrie will talk about our food by sharing her story and how she connects with those unfamiliar with agriculture via social media and her blog called, The Adventures of Dairy Carrie. Sharing candid stories of her “life on the farm” and tackling tough subjects has led to her to being featured in The Guardian and Huffington Post as well as several trade publications.
If you are a farmer, someone who supports farmers through your trade, or simply a person who eats, you are involved in agriculture - Be Proud! Wisconsin’s dairy business is important to all of us. The Committee will also introduce the 2014 Kewaunee County Breakfast on the Farm hosts, Cornette Dairy, LLC. Their dairy farm is excited to be hosting the annual event on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15.
Help celebrate in kicking off June is Dairy Month. Tickets are $8.00 and available at BayLake Bank in Kewaunee, Kewaunee County UW-Extension Office, or from any Dairy Promotion Committee Member. Tickets also available at the door.
