Memorial Day Ceremonies iCal

Billy Weiss American Legion Post 527 of Sister Bay and VFW Post 8337 of Ellison Bay will hold two Memorial Day Ceremonies on Monday, May 26, 2014.


The first ceremony will be at 9:00 AM at Hendrickson Park on the corner of Mill Road and Hwy 42 in the Village of Sister Bay.


At 10:30 AM we will gather at Little Sister Cemetery on Little Sister Road, next to Bay Ridge Golf Course in Sister Bay.  Our service will  begin with American Legion Post 527, VFW Post 8337 and the Boy Scouts marching to the Eldred and Mllie Koepsel Memorial Flag Pole to lower the flag to half staff, Reverend Mark Billington of First Baptist Church in Sister Bay will lead our invocation.  The mixed choir will sing a selection of songs, the Gibraltar Band lead by Army Veteran Charlie Eckhardt will play a medley of Military songs, ex-Marine Captain Michael Walker will be our featured speaker, 1st Assembly District Assemblyman Garey Bies will speak, we will honor our deceased veterans with the reading of their names by Post 527 Adjutant Don Sitte and VFW Post 8337 Post Commander Bob Tidball.  Post 527 Burglar Dale Seaquist will play taps for the 68th consecutive year, and we will conclude with the singing of God Bless America by soloist Amanda Larson of Ephraim.


Please bring a chair.  Should we have a hard rain we will gather at First Baptist Church, 2622 S. Bay Shore Drive (HWY 42), Sister Bay for an inside service.


All are welcome as we honor our veterans.
