Tuesday, September 17 2013 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Door County Elect Women is a non-partisan group composed of women who want the best for our community. Our goal is to elect women to local, non-partisan offices.
Door County Elect Women (DCEW) invites women who may consider becoming candidates for local, non-partisan offices and women who can provide assistance to them. Representatives from Women’s Associations and Foundations are encouraged to attend and bring the information back to their organizations. Coffee and cookies will be served.
DCEW will introduce a candidate package in hard copy, consisting of important dates, guidelines focused on local elections and essential forms. A directed discussion will cover: the approaching deadlines for potential candidates in the spring 2014 elections; best practices for distribution of materials; how to interest women in becoming candidates and the best way to help those who decide to run.
Consider attending on September 17 and lending your support to women in your community who are willing to stand for election. Social media experts are welcome. Can you design a LOGO, a rack card? Please think about giving us one evening. And, if you are contemplating becoming a candidate, please attend and see if we can offer the help that you need to make your decision.
You don’t need to attend frequent meetings to give support: just this one. You can help with forms, set up timelines, send emails, and draft letters when you can spare a minute or ride along with a candidate. If you cannot attend, we can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
