DCA Presents Official Blues Brothers Revue
On Thursday, July 25, Fish Creek will come alive with blues, soul, and gospel music when Door Community Auditorium presents the Official Blues Brothers Revue. The Blues Brothers Revue pays homage to Chicago’s rich musical history in the true spirit of the Blues Brothers, originally created by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd in 1978. Sanctioned by Aykroyd and the Belushi estate, the Official Blues Brothers Revue recreates the live Blues Brothers concert experience, evoking the humor, music, and mayhem of the original film.
The characters of Jake and Elwood Blues were initially imagined by Aykroyd and Belushi as frontmen for a fictitious American blues and soul band. Since their film debut in 1980, Jake and Elwood have resonated with audiences around the world.
In the Blues Brothers Revue, Jake and Elwood are portrayed by frontmen Wayne Catania and Kieron Lafferty. Backed by the high-energy eight-piece Intercontinental Rhythm & Blues Revue Band, Catania and Lafferty demonstrate the passion and precision that catapulted the original Blues Brothers into cinematic and musical legend. The charismatic energy with which Catania, Lafferty, and their band perform has packed houses across the United States, Canada, and Australia.
The Chicago Sun-Times writes that the Official Blues Brothers Revue is full of “infectious and unbridled energy…it blows the roof off.”
The Official Blues Brothers Revue is sponsored by William and Colette Goldammer and the Goldammer Family Foundation, Alexander’s Restaurant, and The Cordon Family Foundation.
The Official Blues Brothers Revue will come to DCA at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 25. Tickets for the concert range from $22 to $45. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek.
