23rd Annual Classic & Wooden Boat Show iCal

Sunday, August 4 2013 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Don’t miss this action-packed weekend that’s fun for the entire family!

Watch as two-person teams creatively build boats from scratch on Saturday and race them on Sunday in the Sikaflex Challenge.  The field is limited to 12 two-person teams.  Again, participants are restricted in the amount of material and tools they can use during construction.  Register your team and join the fun!  Entry is free for both the boat entries and the Sikaflex event.  Print this pdf Sikaflex Challenge Registration Form, fill it out and mail it to us.

Kids can build and paint their own sailboat or tug (one per child, $2 per kit), meet Coastie, the Coast Guard robot, and try mini-tug races!

BOATS The entire family can take in beautiful classic and wooden boats brought to the museum by their proud owners.  The Festival annually features a remarkable assortment of vessels with judges awards for power, sail and self-powered boats.  Festival attendees will also vote for People's Choice award winners on the Saturday of the show.  To register your classic or wooden boat for exhibit at the 22nd Annual Classic & Wooden Boat Festival, print this pdf Boat Registration Form, fill it out and mail it to us.

BOOKS Plus, browse a collection of maritime-themed arts, crafts, books and collectibles in our Museum Store.

BRUSHES Enjoy the working waterfront and watch as artists recreate Sturgeon Bay on canvas.  Area artists are invited to participate in this popular plein air painting event beginning Saturday with artists spreading out along the shores of Sturgeon Bay.  Works must have a maritime theme and be completed and returned to the festival grounds by 1 pm.  A silent auction follows in the Museum with proceeds going to the artist and the Museum.  Entry fee is $15 for adults and $10 for students.  To pre-register print this pdf "Paint the Bay" Registration Form, fill it out and mail it to us.  Registrations will also be taken beginning at 8 am the morning of the event, at which time all the artists' medium will be stamped and artists will be released to begin painting.
