The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers returned to Neuroscience Group Friday evening after a lengthy road trip and lost to the Kane County Cougars 2-1. Wisconsin got on the board early when Tristen Lutz (Brewers 8th ranked prospect) tripled to deep right field, allowing Gilbert Lara to score from 1st base. Kane County was able to chase starting pitcher Wilfred Salaman from the game in the fourth after two straight hits and a walk led to a run with two still on base. Kane County would score the go-ahead run later in the frame on a wild pitch. Wisconsin would have opportunities in the 7th and 9th innings but could not capitalize. Christian Taugner (1-4, 3.83) takes the mound for game two of the series Saturday night at 7:20 pm for the Timber Rattlers.
