The Gibraltar Vikings baseball season continues as it beat Algoma 10-0 in the opening round of the WIAA Division 3 State Playoff tournament. Gibraltar’s offense was firing on all cylinders led by junior Trevor Reinhardt who went 3-4 with 2 RBI, including a walk-off game ending hit to lead the Vikings. Also standing out was Brandon Stillman, Andras Szakala, and Ben Johnson who each knocked in two hits as well. Each Viking in the lineup managed to reach base safely at least once in the contest. Reinhardt was equally impressive on the mound, throwing a 5 inning, 3 hit shutout in which he struck out 8 Algoma batters. For the Wolves, in its season finale, Tristan Copet and Max Panger each tallied doubles. Gibraltar moves on to play Kewaunee, at Kewaunee on Tuesday, May 28th. Tim Kowols and Eric Fischer will broadcast that matchup on 105.1 WSBW.
