By Nick Freimuth Southern Door swept a rare Packerland Conference double header Saturday against two different schools. In the Eagles first game against Pestigo, Jackie Atkins lead the way to a 6-5 win with four hits. Grace LeGrave was the winning pitcher. Tehya Bertrand added three hits in the win. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Atkins got a base hit and stole second. She advanced to third on a ground ball by Gabby Atkins and then scored the winning run on a wild pitch.
In game, two, Southern Door peat Algoma 1-0 in eight innings. Grace LeGrave was again the winning pitcher. Makayla Haack was the loosing pitcher but struck out 11 in a great effort. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Jackie Atkins got a base hit and stole second. Again, older sister Gabby Atkins hit a double to left center for the game winning RBI.
