By Nick Freimuth Gibraltar lit up the scoreboard Tuesday in a 12-11 win over N.E.W. Lutheran in Packerland Conference baseball. The Vikings were led by Brandon Stillman’s three hit and four RBI performance. Teammates Andras Szakala, Ben Johnson and Griffin Reinhardt each added two hits in the win.
Another high scoring game was played out between Sturgeon Bay and Kewaunee. The Clippers held off the Storm 16-10 with Jared Van Bramer and Max Bordeau each tallying four RBI. Tanner DeGrave added three RBI in the win. Anthony Moore, Trent Ehlers and Ryan Jacobson each set the table well with three hits apiece. Lincoln Barta, Walechka, Richard and Kruse all had multi hits for Kewaunee. Sturgeon Bay overcame a 10-8 deficit with an eight-run 7th inning, with both Ryan Jacobson and Trent Ehlers contributing two hits each during the rally. The biggest hit of the inning was a bases clearing triple by Max Bordeau. Jake Schneider got the win with four innings of relief, striking out six and walking only one.
Southern Door earned a 6-5 win over Sevastopol behind Tyler Kroll’s six innings on the mound. Kroll struck out four and aided his own cause with an RBI at the plate. Nick McCarty added two hits and an RBI in the win. Sevastopol saw Brent Haberli pitch nearly five innings and struck out four but took the loss. Jaden Sawyer had three hits and Arthur Hocevar had two hits and two RBI in the loss.
