The Milwaukee Bucks will find out if they dodged a bullet this afternoon when they open up the first round of the NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs against the Boston Celtics. While the Bucks are relatively healthy, the Celtics are without their top two players in Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving. The Celtics will have to rely on their young team and the coaching prowess of former Butler coach Brad Stevens if they look to advance. The Bucks fell into the seventh seed after losing to the 76ers last week by 40 points. The surging Sixers could have been their first round opponent if the Bucks had moved up to a six seed, and the Milwaukee squad avoided a repeat of last year’s playoff run against the Toronto Raptors by not falling to the eighth seed. The Bucks will look to their defense to help carry to load and hope for big performances from all-star Giannis Antetokounmpo and his more than capable supporting cast. The two teams split their four matchups this season.
The first game begins at noon from Boston on TNT.
