A Jonathan Villar three-run blast in the second inning and a strong performance from pitcher Chase Anderson was all the Milwaukee Brewers to beat the New York Mets, earning the 5-1 victory and snapping their host’s nine game winning steak. Anderson was magnificent with in 6 1/3 innings of work, limiting the Mets to two hits, including a RBI single to Yoenis Cespedes. Catcher Jett Bandy extended the 3-0 lead after Villar’s homer with a solo shot in the fourth. Orlando Arcia capped off the scoring with a home run in the ninth. The Mets and Brewers battle in the rubber match this afternoon from Citi Field.
