The Milwaukee Brewers offense crushed Oakland pitching, with a dominating 10-5 Saturday afternoon win. Newly acquired outfielder Christian Yelich went 2 for 3, with a solo homerun in the first, and a 3 RBI-double in the second. Following the double, fellow newly acquired outfielder Lorenzo Cain drove in Yelich on an RBI single to increase the Brewers lead to 5-0. Oakland would cut into the lead in the fourth to narrow the margin to 5-2. That would be the closest the A’s would ever get as Milwaukee went on to score 5 consecutive runs behind the reserves, with Christian Bethancourt and Troy Stokes Jr. each hitting solo homeruns as part of scoring. Jhoulys Chacin, another offseason acquisition, earned the win pitching 4.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, and striking out 2. The Brewers improved their Spring Training record to 19-9, clinching the best record in the Cactus League. Milwaukee plays their final Spring Training game Sunday against the Chicago White Sox with the starting pitcher still to be determined. The Brewers will travel to Houston for two final tune-up exhibition games against the defending World Series Champion, Houston Astros.
