The Milwaukee Brewers enter the final weekend of Spring Training with a 4-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Friday. Brandon Woodruff took the loss for the Brewers, pitching 5 innings, allowing 6 hits, 4 runs, all earned, and 6 strikeouts. Keon Broxton led Milwaukee with two hits and drove in two runs, with an RBI double in the second, and an RBI single in the fourth. The Cubs did most of its damage in the bottom of the fifth, taking the lead for good, scoring 3 runs off Woodruff. The Brewers bullpen remained strong with Jeremy Jeffress, Matt Albers, and Yovani Gallardo each holding the Cubs scoreless, only allowing 1 hit. The Brewers go into the weekend with a 1.5 game lead in the Cactus League, with an 18-9 record, the second-best record in the MLB. Jhoulys Chacín takes the mound for Milwaukee as the Brewers square off against the Oakland A’s on Saturday.
