Thursday night was one filled with lopsided varsity girls basketball scores in the Packerland Conference. Kewaunee kept Sevastopol winless for the conference season with a 48-15 win. Courtney Tebo led the Pioneers with seven points.
Algoma was also quite dominant in their 58-27 win over Sturgeon Bay. Hailey DeGrave led the Clippers with 13 points. MaKayla Guilette led all scorers with 17 points in the win. The Wolves seem to be playing better basketball heading into next week’s big regional match up with Gibraltar.
The Vikings had a shot to take the lead tied at 40 with conference champion Southern Door and missed. Gibraltar committed a foul putting Grace LeGrave at the line where she made one of two free throws with 9.6 seconds left. Gibraltar got three shots off in the final seconds but missed them all and lost 41-40. The Eagles were led by Gabby Atkins and Meghan LaCrosse with 11 points apiece. Gibraltar did not have a scorer hit double digits.
In Packerland Conference boys basketball, N.E.W. Lutheran silenced Kewaunee 67-58.
