Luxemburg-Casco Spartan girls’ basketball dominated the Waupaca Comets 87-40 in a North Eastern Conference regular season finale on Parents Night Thursday night in Luxemburg.
The Spartans used a pressure defense to kick-start their offense and were able to put away the Comets early. Junior Cassie Schitz scored 21 of her game-high 31 in the first half as the Spartans took a commanding 50-17 lead into intermission. Jenna Jorgenson finished with 17 points and Carli Kolross added 12 points as the Spartans cruised to the easy victory.
The #4 seeded Lady Spartans (18-5) will now have a week to prepare for the first round of the WIAA Division II tournament starting next Friday, February 23 against the number #5 seeded Southwest Trojans.
The next game broadcast on WBDK 96.7FM will be the L-C boys hosting the Waupaca Comets next Thursday, February 22.
