Kewaunee scored the final 18 points of their semifinal dual, but it was not enough in a 32-31 loss to host Random Lake.
After the Rams capture two early decisions, the Storm’s Brock Duescher narrowed the gap with 11-1 major decision over CJ Richardson at 182 pounds. Kyle Steinhorst answered a Random Lake pin with a 7-3 decision before the Rams rattled off three straight wins. Jack Severin would earn quick pin at 120 pounds before the Rams would conclude their scoring with a forfeit at 126 and a heartbreaking 2-0 victory over Kewaunee’s Cam Konop. Cam Hanrahan and Jesse Steinhorst’s forfeits sandwiched a third period pin by Dylan Steinhorst to end a disappointing dual, but finish an overall exciting and successful season that saw the Storm win several tournaments.
Several Storm wrestlers still have life to their season as Severin, Hanrahan, Wery, Reinke, Konop, and all three Steinhorsts will all wrestling in this weekend’s individual sectional meet in Dodgeland.
