The Gibraltar Vikings claimed their first Packerland Conference victory Friday night on the home court of rival Sevastopol High School.
After a slow start to the game for the Vikings, Trevor Reinhardt and Evan Henry took over for Gibraltar. A pair of late three point baskets late in the first half allowed for a big momentum shift before halftime. Reinhardt finished the night with 18 points while Henry tallied 13. The Vikings went into the break leading 38-26.
Sevastopol did their best to crawl back into the game with 18 points coming from young talent Robby Pollman. However, despite his terrific shooting it was not enough to pull the Pioneers within striking distance.
Gibraltar moves to 2-8 overall and 1-6 in conference play with their victory while the Pioneers fall to 3-9 and 0-7 in conference play. The Vikings are next in action on Saturday against the Gillett Tigers while Sevastopol takes on Kewaunee on January 16th.
