The Southern Door Eagles earned a little breathing room atop the Packerland Conference Monday night with a 76-70 win over Sturgeon Bay. At (6-0) the Eagles have a slight lead over Oconto. The Blue Devils have just one loss. The Clippers fell to (5-2) despite 18 points from Carson Talbert and 15 from Mitchell Jackson.
The Eagles were paced by Same Gerend’s game-high 24 points. Kyle Daoust added 20 points in the win. Derik Leaptain and Ryan Claflin were difference makers as well tallying 13 points apiece for Southern Door.
Algoma picked up their second win in conference this season with a 62-37 win over Sevastopol. One of the top big men in the Packerland Aidan Wallace scored 20 points to lead his Wolves to victory. Mitchell Zimmer scored 10 points in the win. Sevastopol now (0-6) in conference was unable to get a scorer into double digits. Algoma is now (2-4) in the Packerland.
Gibraltar fell to Peshtigo 53-44 in Fish Creek Monday night. The Bulldogs were led by Cameron Noffke’s 20 points. The Vikings were led by Evan Henry and his 16 point performance. Trevor Reinhardt added ten points in the loss. Peshtigo moved to (3-3) while Gibraltar fell to (0-6) in conference.
