The season finale of the Jim Olson Motors featured our best WRLU Team of the Week ever. Special Olympics Door and Kewaunee Counties were celebrated for their incredible heart, spirit, hard work and love of the game. The Clippers, Eagles and Lakers were all honored live on 104.1 FM WRLU.
Coaches Amy Vlies, Stacy Vogel and Shannon Wautier each explained how the programs got their start, how many athletes play on each basketball team and the possible need fro one more team.
The Clippers made it to state last year in just their second season of existence. Players and coaches have big expectations for this season that starts at a tournament in Sheboygan this weekend.
Packers quarterback Brett Hundley helped us end the show by signing autographs for every person in attendance. Special prizes were given out to all Special Olympians in attendance last night including gold footballs, packs of cards from Tim’s Sports Cards and Brett Hundley cards that the quarterback signed for all the athletes.
Thank you to everyone who attended a show this year, all the sponsors of the show, our gracious host Jim Olson Motors and all the incredible Packers that made the trip to participate in the 2017 Red Zone.
