Montravius Adams has been one of the Jim Olson Motors two co-hosts this season. We have always touted the show as a family friendly experience. Last night Adams’ family was in tow from Georgia to experience the Red Zone first hand. Montravius’ mom, three sisters, brother-in-law, two nieces, nephew, girlfriend and son were all in attendance. Adams’ mother, Debbie Young was the first family member to join us live on 104.1 FM WRLU. Then his three sisters all shared how Montravius even though he is the baby of the family was always bigger than everybody else in their home town.
Young said she still cannot believe that her baby is in the NFL. One thing that made that dream a realty is when Montravius bought his mother a house with his first NFL paycheck. He also takes care of his nephew here in Wisconsin. In what could be described as almost a foster situation, Uncle Mon and Latisha are their for their family.
Packers rookie outside linebacker Reggie Gilbert joined us at Jim Olson Ford last night as well. Each player shared their stories of hard work, dedication to their craft and endless hours in the weight room and playbook as reasons they were able to make the jump from high school to college, then from college to the NFL.
Adams and Gilbert will see a lot more snaps Sunday in Detroit. Watch for #90 and #93 hopefully to break out their first ever NFL sack dance against Matthew Stafford on Sunday.
