The Packers and Lions no longer have playoff aspirations. The NFC North has proved to be one of the weakest divisions in football this year. At (7-8) Green Bay is slotted for the 15th or 16th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. That could move as many as four spots depending on what happens this weekend.
Detroit at (8-7) would pick before Green Bay if they lose Sunday and both teams are tied in the final standings. The tie breaker in conference record and the Packers would have the stronger winning percentage in those games.
Green Bay will be without Aaron Rodgers, Jason Spriggs, Quentin Rollins, Bryan Bulaga, Kevin King, Ty Montgomery, Demetri Goodson and six others due to placement on injured reserve Sunday. They will likely not see Nick Perry, Clay Matthews, Aaron Jones and Richard Rodgers due to injury. The roster looks more depleted now than at any time in the last two decades.
The noon kickoff from Ford Field will be an interesting game. Which team will finish the 2017 season on a high note? Whose team has more will to win in a bleak season? These questions and many more will be answered Sunday in Detroit.
