The Brewers added a couple of veteran pitchers for the upcoming season. Jhoulys Chacin will be counted on to secure a regular spot in the starting rotation. Chacin will turn 30 in January and is coming off a solid season with the Padres in which he went 13-10 with a 3.89 ERA in 180 1/3 innings. He holds a career ERA under four which is more impressive when considering the many years he pitched at altitude in Colorado. The Brewers have also added a familiar name in Yovani Gallardo who was brought back after years of battling injuries and inconsistency. He will be a wild card contender with a chance to earn a spot in the spring.
