Howard Fred Nell, 78, Forestville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at home with his family at his side. He was born May 21, 1939 in the Town of Ahnapee to William and Ella (Uecker) Nell. Howard attended St. Paul’s Grade School and graduated from Algoma High School in 1957. Attended the Door-Kewaunee Teacher College. Howard worked on the family farm, Algoma Box and Dowel, Algoma Plumbers, Algoma Plywood, Paul Hoppe Paint and for the Algoma School District.
Howard married Marilyn Jacobs Dec. 27, 1958 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Forestville.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Algoma.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, one son Jeffrey (Carol) Nell, daughter Nancy (Ronald) Johnson; grandchildren Jacob and Jacqueline Nell and Derek and Sara Johnson, and Stephanie Scherer-Johnson, one brother Harold Nell, sisters-in-law Margaret Nell, Evarista Nell, Rose Marie Nell, Dawn Kieckbusch and Kay Baker; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ella (Uecker) Nell, sister Bernice (Bob) Delano, brothers Wilbert, Carl (Jeannette), Orville (Delores), Orland and Elroy (Deloris), father and mother-in-law Henry and Vianas (Schmiling) Jacobs; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law June (Lynn) Baumann, Russell Kieckbusch and Arliss Baker.
Family and friends may call at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Algoma, from 9 AM Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 until the time of services at 11 AM with Rev. John Moll and Rev. Joel McKenney officiating. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Aurora, Bellin, Algoma Long Term Care and rehab people and all the Unity Hospice staff for their kind help and care.
