The Green Bay Packers signed tackle Francis Kallon to the practice squad. The transaction was announced Wednesday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.
Kallon, a 6-foot-5, 295-pound rookie out of Georgia Tech, was originally signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers on May 8, but was released on Sept. 2. A native of London, England, he did not play organized football until his senior year at Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville, Ga. Kallon played in 26 games in four years at Georgia Tech, totaling 37 tackles and two sacks as a defensive end. He will wear No. 72 for the Packers.
