The Southern Door Eagles earned their third consecutive conference championship with a 27-14 win over Coleman Friday night.
With quarterback, Kyle Daoust lost for the year with an injury, in stepped Derik LeCaptain to lead the Eagles offense. LeCaptain tallied four total touchdowns with three touchdown passes to Sam Gerend and one rushing touchdown on the games opening series.
Gerend caught touchdown passes of 14-yards, 29-yards and 31-yards.
On the defense of side of the ball, the Eagles recorded three turnovers. Max Pierre and Andrew Montana each had interceptions and Kyle Malcore recovered a fumble.
For Coleman, Blake Forner and Jake Baldwin each had rushing touchdowns for the Cougars.
Southern Door now waits to their playoff fate Saturday when pairings get released.
