Southern Door Volleyball took second place Saturday in the Brillion Invite. The Eagles beat Coleman (25-15), (25-12), Port Washington (25-10), (25-19), Laconia (24-26), (25-15), (15-9), and lost to Brillion (19-25), (19-25). Southern Door is now (32-3) overall and (6-1) in conference.
Luxemburg-Casco won the DePere Redbird Invite over the weekend/ The Spartans were a perfect (5-0) Saturday by beating Kaukauna (28-26, 25-15), Pulaski (25-14, 25-6), Little Chute (30-28, 22-25, 15-9), Hortonville in the Semi-Final (22-25, 27-25, 15-10) and Kimberly in the Final (28-26, 18-25, 15-12). L-C is now (31-8) on the season.
Megan Cannon tallied an incredible 120 assists, 33 digs, 11 blocks and six aces Saturday. Alexis Dorner led the way with 43 kills, 14 blocks and seven aces. Cassie Schiltz added 42 kills and 32 digs. Finally, Molly Wotruba chipped in 72 digs.
Coach Jeff Frey said, “(The) girls really battled today and found a way to win a couple of really competitive matches in the last 3 of the day. I loved how scrappy we were, and how we responded to adversity. Fun to see the confidence the girls are playing with right now.”
