The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans fell to the Wrightstown Tigers 24-6 in a key Northeastern Conference game Friday night. Wrightstown scored 17 unanswered points in the second half to pull away late.
The Spartans struck first in the second quarter on a 22 yard touchdown pass from Garritt Aissen to Austin Tlachac to give L-C a 6-0 lead after a missed extra point. Wrightstown responded quickly with a 48 yard run by Jacob Klister after long kick-off return to take a 7-6 lead when the PAT was good. The Tigers took that lead into intermission.
Wrightstown scored on their first drive of the second half on a 20-yard pass from James Hansen to Braydon Smith to lead 14-6.
Wrightstown (6-1, 7-1 overall) added a field goal and a 26 yard run by Smith in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.
The Spartans (5-2, 5-3 overall) will now close out the regular season with a trip to Oconto Falls next Friday to take on the Panthers and hope for a Wrightstown loss to Little Chute to have a chance a a co-championship in the NEC.
