Albert F. Goeppinger III, 76, of Egg Harbor, passed away Sunday morning, September 24, 2017 at his home.
He was born May 28, 1941 in Taylorville, IL, the son of the late Albert F. Goeppinger Jr. and Evelyn G. Serk. Al graduated from Maine Township East High School in 1959. He received his BA in Accounting from the University of Illinois before entering the master’s program at De Paul University. Al worked as an accountant for Federal Signal Corporation and Harbortown Industries where he retired in 2006.
On May 7, 1966, he married Lynn Marie Walter in Hoffman Estates.
Al’s passion was sailing, and he shared that with the entire family. He was a devoted husband and family man who loved spending time with family, and he truly adored his grandchildren. He and Lynn enjoyed being on the water, sailing, hiking, listening to music, and attending concerts and the theatre in Door County.
Al is survived by his wife, Lynn; two children, Christopher (Heather) Goeppinger of Kirkwood, MO, Patricia (Stephen) Fialek of Crystal Lake, IL; four grandchildren, Maggie Marie Goeppinger, “CJ” Christopher Joseph Goeppinger, Brianna Lee Fialek, Sophia Lynn Fialek; and two sisters, Cheryl (John) Meyn of Itasca, IL, and Teri (fiancé, Mark) Watson of West Chicago.
Al’s life will be honored with a memorial service held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Juddville (W4167 Juddville Rd., Fish Creek, WI 54212) with Pastor Frank Kauzlarich officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
