For the second straight night, the Milwaukee Brewers dropped a close one in 10 innings against the Chicago Cubs. Tied 4-4 going into the 10th inning, Chicago benefitted from poor pitch placement from closer Corey Knebel who walked three batters and gave up a single. His third walk proved to be most costly, as he gave a free pass to Kris Bryant from third base to home plate. The Brewers offense sputtered and ultimately fell short, resulting in a 5-4 loss at Miller Park.
Milwaukee’s highlight of the night came on back-to-back home runs for the Crew thanks to Stephan Vogt and Brett Phillips in the second inning.
Game three of the series talks place today at 12:05 pm and is available for viewing on your local FOX station.
