Through the air and on the ground, the Southern Door Eagles couldn’t keep pace as they fell to the visiting Menominee Maroons 62-26 in a game heard on 102.1 WRKU.
Quarterback Ethan Mileski was responsible for six Maroons touchdowns, including four through the air. Eagles running back Derik LeCaptain helped even the game early in the first quarter on a 48 yard touchdown, but would leave the game early with a lower leg injury. Dealing with his own leg injury, Kyle Daoust threw three touchdown passes to Sam Gerend, who led the Eagles receiving corps with a double digit catch evening. The Maroons capped off their evening with a pair of William Burnett runs.
The Eagles return to action next week as they travel to Peshtigo in a conference match-up. You will be able to catch that game on 102.1 WRKU.
