The Milwaukee Brewers shutout the Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0 during the game on Tuesday. Chase Anderson started on the bump for the Brewers and went six innings strong while striking out eight on the day. Corey Knebel came in to close the door on the Pirates with his 37th save of the year.
The lone run support on the day came from Domingo Santana. He hit a solo shot in the fourth inning to give Chase Anderson a little breathing room. They never looked back as they held on for the win. Milwaukee now sit three and a half games back in the division and one games back in the wildcard.
The Brewers will now take on Pittsburgh Wednesday to go for the series sweep. First pitch being throw out at 6:05. The lead for the Cubs in the NL Central is still 3.5 games but Milwaukee is now within one game of the Rockies for the second wild card position.
