The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-2 Wednesday night. Chase Anderson started for Milwaukee and threw five innings of two run baseball before diving into the bullpen. Five pitchers combined to hold the Pirates scoreless the rest of the game.
Eric Thames once again jump started the Brewers offense with a two-run bomb in the third inning to get the scoring underway. Recently called up Brett Phillips was a spark in the lineup driving in two runs on the night. Milwaukee now sits two and a half games back in the division and three games back in the wildcard.
The Brewers will now have off on Thursday and will begin a series Friday with the Marlins in Milwaukee.
