The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburg Pirates 5-2 at Miller Park. Brent Suter started for Milwaukee and went three innings of two run baseball before relief came in the fourth. Jeremy Jeffress picked up the win in relief.
Eric Thames started off the run support in the second inning after launching a solo shot that traveled 419 feet. They tacked on a few more runs of insurance in the third inning and never looked back. Milwaukee now sits two and a half games out of first place in the division with half a month of games to go.
The Brewers will now continue their series with the Pirates on Wednesday. First pitch being thrown out at 7:10.
