Sturgeon Bay Football fell to (0-3) on the season after a devastating 14-12 loss at home to Peshtigo Friday night. Broadcast on 104.1 FM WRLU, the Clippers did enough to win the game with a scoop and score touchdown to end the first half by Michael Rose and a late field goal that appeared to be good from the Clippers sideline. Both calls went against the Clippers and Sturgeon Bay fell in the conference opener.
Ethan Knipfer played a great game at quarterback with an extremely efficient 11/16 passing for 109 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. His top target way Ryan Jacobson who hauled in six catches for 23 yards. Jacobson added 106 rushing yards on 25 carries. Jared Van Bramer had three receptions for 52 yards including one touchdown.
The Bulldogs were led by quarterback Riley Reif who passed for 30 yards, rushed for 61 including a 51-yard touchdown. Jared Jandt carried the ball 22 times for 98 yards in the win.
Sturgeon Bay travels to Norway, Michigan next Friday night. The game will be broadcast on 104.1 FM WRLU, online at DoorCountyDailyNews.com and via FaceBook LIVE starting at 6:00 PM. Pre-game coverage starts at 5:30 PM.
