The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans made just enough plays Friday night to prevail 20-7 in a North Eastern Conference battle with the Little Chute Mustangs.
The Spartans capitalized on a fumbled punt return after a scoreless first quarter as Nathan Ronsman scored on a one yard run with 8:03 left in the first quarter. After halftime, Little Chute tied the game 7-7 executing an onside kick and a fake punt to stun the Spartans with a quick touchdown on a 10 yard pass with 10:23 left in the third quarter to tie the score. Not to be deterred, the Spartans responded with two touchdown passes by Garritt Aissen to Coisman for the final scoring to secure the win.
Coisman had a monster game with three touchdowns on offense and 15 tackles on defense. Aissen finished 14-21 for 186 yards and two touchdown passes while Ian Doell had 8 catches for 99 yards. Luxemburg-Casco (2-1) will now travel to West De Pere to take on the Phantoms next Friday in a non-conference game that will be broadcast on 96.7FM WBDK starting with the pregame show at 6:30. The game will also be streamed on DoorCountyDailyNews.com and on facebook live.
