The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-1 on Tuesday night. Zach Davies started for Milwaukee and went nearly seven innings only giving up one earned run on the night. Corey Knebel came in to shut the door on the Pirates and earn his 23rd save.
Runs were hard to come by for the Brewers in this game. Manny Piña drove in two of the runs on a fielder’s choice and a single. The big highlight of the night was Keon Broxton’s solo shot in the seventh inning to put the Brewers up for good.
Milwaukee will now play game two against the Pirates on Wednesday. First pitch being thrown out at 1:10. The Brewers are tied with the Cardinals just a game and a half back of the Cubs.
