Hazel R. Ellison, 97, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 at Cardinal Ridge CBRF.
She was born September 4, 1919 to Edward and Frances (O’Dean) Ellison in the Town of Forestville and was baptized and confirmed at the Forest Lutheran Church in Carnot.
Hazel was employed for 34 years as bookkeeper for the Door County Cooperative until her retirement.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Hazel I. Ellison of Sturgeon Bay; five nieces, Elaine LaLuzerne of Sturgeon Bay, Karen (Bill) Smith of New Franken, Nancy (John) Sawdo of Sturgeon Bay, Kathleen Ellison of De Pere, Elsie Long of Green Bay; three nephews, Gary Long of Sturgeon Bay, Robert (Maryellen) Ellison, and Lee (Mary) Ellison, both of Forestville; and their families.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Alma; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther (Raymond) Anderson, Mathilda (Mervin) Isaacson, Evelyn (Stanley) Viste, and Viola (Wilmer) Long; two brothers, Curtis Ellison and Lloyd Ellison; nephew, Donald Long; great-nephew, Dennis Sawdo; great-great-nephews, Matt LaLuzerne, and Adam LaLuzerne; and other family, Wendell LaLauzerne.
Her life will be honored with a funeral service held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Bay View Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. Hazel will be laid to rest in Forest Lutheran Cemetery in Carnot.
Family and friends may call at Bay View Lutheran Church, Wednesday morning, August 16, 2017from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
