The Milwaukee Brewers beat St. Louis 2-1 to win their first series over the cardinals at home since 2013. Matt Garza started for Milwaukee and only allowed one run in over five innings of work. Corey Knebel came in to secure the win and earn his 20th save of the season.
Keon Broxton was the hero for the Brewers in this one. He made a leaping catch over the wall to rob a Cardinal home run early on in the game. Then towards the end of the game he singled in what proved to be the game winning run.
The Brewers now sit one and a half games behind the Cubbies for the NL Central lead. They will now take on Tampa Bay in a weekend series. First pitch being thrown out Friday night at 6:10.
