The Green Bay Bullfrogs fell to the Battle Creek Bombers Friday, losing the second game of the series 10-5. The Bombers pulled ahead with a four-run second inning and a three-run fourth, holding off the Bullfrogs’ offense without allowing a hit until the sixth inning. The Frogs made a five-run comeback including the team’s first grand slam of the season, hit by Dan Leckie; the grand slam was Leckie’s first home run of the season. But the Bombers produced another three runs to buoy their lead in the seventh, and the Bullfrogs couldn’t close the gap.
The Bullfrogs will next play the Growlers in Kalamazoo, Michigan, hoping to add to their 3-0 season record against Kalamazoo. After the two-game series, the Frogs will return to play at the Bombers. Their next home game on July 26th will see the Bullfrogs face off against the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders.
