The Brewers lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-2 on Thursday afternoon. Jimmy Nelson started on the bump for Milwaukee. He went five innings giving up four earned runs on the day. The bullpen held them scoreless the rest of the game.
Hitting wise the Brewers had a hard time getting it going. Brett Phillips doubled in a run as his call-up to the big leagues has been impressive thus far. Milwaukee now stands one game ahead of the Cubs in the division.
The Brewers will now travel to Philadelphia to take on the Phillies in a weekend series. First pitch will be thrown out at 6:05 Friday night.
