The Milwaukee Brewers handily beat the Chicago Cubs on Thursday afternoon 11-2 in a makeup game. Zach Davies pitched for ‘The Crew’ and went six innings strong only allowing two runs to the stacked Cubs lineup. Michael Blazek and Rob Scahill came out of the bullpen to record a combined three scoreless innings to finish off the game.
The bats could not be stopped for the Brewers the moment the game started. Domingo Santana doubled in a run in the first inning to start it off. Hernan Perez then singled to score Santana from second to make it 2-0. Ryan Braun went deep in the third inning to make it 4-0 and the Brewers never looked back.
It’s an exciting time to be a fan of Milwaukee. From low expectations at start the year, to now sitting in the driver seat for the division lead. ‘The Crew’ now heads out to New York to take on the Yankees in a three game series before the all-star break. First pitch will be thrown out at 6:05 on Friday night.
