It was the Milwaukee Brewers’ newest addition providing the offense it needed as catcher Stephen Vogt slugged two home runs in a 3-2 win over the visiting Miami Marlins. After spotting the Marlins a 2-0 lead heading into the 5th innng, Vogt hit a solo home run off starter Edinson Volquez to cut the lead in half. Two innings later, Vogt struck again with the game-winning homer off reliever David Phelps to give the Brewers the lead late. Closer Corey Knebel shut the door in the top of the 9th, securing the win for reliever Carlos Torres.
The Brewers look to get the series win Saturday against the Marlins when they two teams meet up again on national television beginning at 3:10 p.m.
