The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds 11-3 at the Great American Ball Park Thursday night in an absolute slug fest. Ryan Braun and Jonathan Villar, recently back from DL stints, each had a homer in the first three innings. Villar tacked on another one in the fourth to make it a two home run night.
In all, The Brewers hit six total home runs on the night to coast to easy victory. Jimmy Nelson started for ‘The Crew’ and had a strong outing with seven innings pitched punching out a career high 11 in the win. With Milwaukee starting to get healthy, they will look to extend their division lead heading into the All-Star break.
The Brewers will now fly home to start a three-game weekend series with the Miami Marlins. First pitch will be thrown out at 7:10 tonight.
