Mann Photography battled back from a 2-0 final inning deficit to remain undefeated in Sturgeon Bay Cal Ripken Baseball Tuesday night. A 3-2 win over Advanced Disposal kept the top team in the league unblemished.
Coach Travis Grooters said, “We had some late-game heroics from several different hitters in the sixth and final inning. Eli Bell got us started with a single. Logan Schuh followed with a triple, scoring Bell. The next batter was Sladon Asher who hit a single, scoring Schuh and tying the game at 2. Tyler Grooters kept things going with a double, allowing Asher to get to third. Finally, Chase Haberli hit a walk-off single, and Asher crossed the plate for the winning run.”
Sladon Asher finished 2×3 with an RBI and a run scored. Tyler Grooters and Chase Haberli were also 2×3. Tyler Grooters: pitched two innings with one strikeout and no earned runs. Aaron Brey pitched three innings and struck out six while allowing two runs. Chase Haberli earned the win for his one-inning outing. Haberli struck out the side in the final inning.
Coach Grooters added, “Advanced Disposal’s pitchers threw an excellent game, allowing no runs through the first five innings.”
