The Sturgeon Bay Athletic Department has created a Sturgeon Bay High School Athletic Hall of Fame, which will showcase the rich tradition of athletic excellence at Sturgeon Bay High School as we approach the 50th year anniversary of Sturgeon Bay High School at its present site on Michigan Street. The Hall of Fame will, over the span of three years, showcase the coaches, teams, and players that were cornerstones to this tradition of excellence in athletics at its current site at 1230 Michigan Street. The scheduling for the Hall of Fame showcase of excellence in athletics is as follows:
2017-18: Athletic Coaches (49th year SBHS at Michigan Street site)
2018-19: Athletic Teams (50th year SBHS at Michigan Street site)
2019-2020: Individual Athletes (51st year SBHS at Michigan Street site)
The 1st Hall of Fame Class, which was selected by the Hall of Fame Committee, will be made up of coaches who were instrumental to continuing the rich tradition of athletics at Sturgeon Bay High School. The four recipients are as follows:
Ron Casadont – Athletic Director, Football Coach, and Baseball Coach
Diane Patterson – Volleyball Coach, Basketball Coach and Track Coach. Diane also started the women’s athletic program at Sturgeon Bay High School.
Tom Stover – Longtime Girls and Boys Swim Coach
Gordy Saron – Football and Track Coach
The recipients (and families) of the first Hall of Fame Class will be honored at halftime of the September 1st, 2017 Varsity Football game against Peshtigo High School and a social will be held afterward.
The Hall of Fame will be open to all coaches, teams, and players from Sturgeon Bay High School during the last 100-plus years, starting in the school year 2020-2021. If you have any questions, contact Pat Blizel, the Athletic Director at Sturgeon Bay High School at email@example.com
