After opening the tournament with a victory over Wrightstown, the Ahnapee Trailblazers lost two tightly contested games on Saturday and were eliminated from the Casco Legion Baseball Tournament.
In their first game, Ahnapee lost to Kewaunee County 3-1. Ahnapee threatened in the bottom of the seventh, but grounded out with the bases loaded to end the game. Jeffrey Alberts threw a complete game for Ahnapee allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits. Jacob Moeller drove in the lone run for the Trailblazers with a single in the 3rd inning.
Nathan Yagodinski threw 6 2/3 innings allowing 1 run on three hits to earn the win for Kewaunee County. Jordan Jorgenson went 2×2 with two RBI’s to lead the Lakers.
In an elimination game, Ahnapee lost to Little Chute 4-3. After the Trailblazers took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning, Little Chute responded with three runs in the top of the 4th inning and would not relinquish the lead. Adam Gutschow and Ryan Jacobson both had two hits apiece for Ahnapee. Jake Schneider threw five innings surrendering four runs on seven hits while striking out four in his Legion debut.
Cory Diedrick had two hits and Leighton Myers added a solo HR to lead Little Chute. Diedrick earned the win tossing 5 2/3 innings allowing three runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.
