The Brewers’ bullpen was just good enough for the Crew to hold off the Arizona Diamondbacks, 8-6 in Arizona Friday night. Milwaukee blew open a tied game in the sixth to grab a commanding 8-4 lead, only the see a pair of relief pitchers give back two runs an inning later. The Brewers were aided by a good outing from Corey Knebel who tossed an inning and a third of relief to register the save. Knebel leads all big league relievers in strikeouts. The Brewers had one potentially serious injury in the game. Second baseman Jonathan Villar left the field on a cart with what was reported as back spasms. He will undergo more tests Saturday. The Brewers and D-backs will match up again Saturday night in a 9 o’clock start out west.
