The Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers traded grand slams Saturday night in Milwaukee, but it was Chris Taylor’s ninth inning home run that gave the visitors from the coast the 10-8 victory.
After being put in an early 1-0 hole, the Brewers’ success scoring in the first inning continued as Jesus Aguilar reached on a fielding error, allowing Keon Broxton to tie the game. Aguilar would give the Brewers a lead two innings later with his own home run. The Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig kept the seesaw affair alive by driving home Enrique Hernandez on a single after being at the plate for a Jared Hughes’ wild pitch that also brought in a run. The Brewers would double the Dodgers on a pair of home runs, including Travis Shaw’s first-ever grand slam. Puig, Cody Bellinger, and Taylor would cap off the scoring for the Dodgers, helping drive in six unanswered runs to give them the win.
The Brewers will face the Dodgers in the series finale this afternoon at Miller Park.
