A fourth-inning grand slam by Domingo Santana propelled the Milwaukee Brewers to a 9-5 win and a series split over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Brewers continued their hot hitting in the first inning of ballgames by plating two runs on RBIs by Hernan Perez and Manny Pina. Santana delivered the big blow of the game in the fourth inning after the Diamondbacks’ Chris Ianetta doubled home a run. The Brewers would extend their lead to 8-1 before the Diamondbacks batted around in the 8th inning, scoring four runs. Travis Shaw’s ground-rule double in the bottom half of the inning gave the Brewers a wanted, but ultimately unneeded insurance run.
The Brewers will board a plane and head to Queens for a series against the New York Mets. First pitch is set for 6:10 p.m.
