Winners of six out of seven on their latest home stand, the Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the most explosive teams in Major League Baseball this season. After trailing 7-1 in the sixth inning, Milwaukee stormed back Sunday to sweep the Mets 11-9. The series sweep kept the Brewers just one game back of the Cardinals in the National League Central at (21-17).
Catcher Many Pina was Sunday’s hero. He tallied three RBI including the game-winning home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. A performance that got him a Gatorade shower during his post game interview from his teammates.
Jonathan Villar, Hernan Perez and Domingo Santana all had multi-hit performances as well on Sunday. The Brewers open a seven-game road trip in San Diego tonight at 9:10 PM CST. They will play four games on the West Coast before opening a three-game series with the Cubs at Wrigley Field Friday night.
